What brought you to Monti Kids?

I was introduced to Monti Kids through my oldest son’s prior toddler teacher. I loved the thought of being able to introduce Montessori toys at home when my son was an infant (at a fair price) along with videos that not only gave instruction, but offered a “why.” The entire program sounded amazing and I couldn't wait to get his first box!

Are you a Montessori enthusiast and were you before discovering Monti Kids? Are Montessori methods important to you?

I was introduced to Montessori years ago through a friend who started a program in North Carolina. It fascinated me. I am a teacher myself and I often thought I may have taken the wrong ‘route’ because I loved it so much! My husband was also Montessori trained when he was a toddler through kindergarten. I truly believe that children are sponges and this part of their development is so crucial! (ages 0-6)

"I can buy Montessori materials many places, but there are no instructions, no community, nowhere you can ‘brag’ about your child (let's face it, we all love to brag!!) and nowhere I can go and ask questions about my child’s personal development."

What is special to you about Monti Kids that you couldn’t find elsewhere?

I really loved the quality vs price. And what you get with the program! I can buy Montessori materials many places, but there are no instructions, no community, nowhere you can ‘brag’ about your child (let's face it, we all love to brag!!) and nowhere I can go and ask questions about my child’s personal development. This entire program really is where it’s at in terms of that. Especially for those families that can’t afford to send their children to a Montessori program. There are trusted teachers that can answer questions about ‘why my child is throwing’ or ‘why is my child not liking this specific toy, what do I do?’ and of course there are lots of other parents cheering you on and letting you know you're not alone in your struggles.

Tell us about your play space!

We have a designated area for toys for my youngest. He has a shelf that is already existing under a piece of furniture. This was the most logical for us because we didn’t want to put an shelf in the living space. My son can go grab a toy and play there, or bring it to the rug. Because they have always been there, he will many times carry the toy to me in the kitchen and ask me to sit on the carpet in front of the fridge (favorite spot). he will suddenly get up and grab another toy. But...when he brings me that toy, he takes the old one back to the shelf! Children really love order, and you can just see his little mind at work! I also usually have a toy on his table in the dining area if he wants to sit down and work.

"My son has definitely improved on his fine motor skills through this course. I also think his concentration levels have improved and he can play alone for short periods of time."

Can you share a few moments from your time playing with Monti Kids that stood out to you because your child surprised you, or accomplished a task that they hadn’t been able to before, etc.?

I remember when he was about 11 months old he was putting colored rings on the peg. He was little, with his sausage fingers...but he did it!! And he did it well! He was proud, but I think I was more proud!!

What is your child’s current favorite toy from Monti Kids? What is your favorite part of the Monti Kids program?

I think it’s a toss-up between the yellow duck and the tracker. haha.

What skills do you feel your child has learned through playing with Monti Kids?

My son has definitely improved on his fine motor skills through this course. I also think his concentration levels have improved and he can play alone for short periods of time.

If you could offer one piece of advice for new families who are interested in Monti Kids, what would it be?

I would say do it!! It’s a fantastic program, especially if you are new to the Montessori Method. The steps are easy to follow and the advice is well suited for moms and dads to quickly read/watch and implement.
